I AM
Today's Word
The crowd asks Jesus: who do you think you are? Abraham died. The prophets died. You're not even fifty. Jesus answers: "Before Abraham came to be, I AM." They pick up stones to kill him.
Real Talk
I AM. Not "I was." Not "I will be." I AM. That's the name God gave himself at the burning bush. And Jesus just claimed it. He's not saying he's a good teacher or a spiritual guru. He's saying he's the eternal God. The crowd got it immediately - that's why they grabbed rocks. Here's the thing: you can't be neutral about this. Either Jesus is lying, he's crazy, or he's telling the truth. If he's telling the truth, then he's not one option among many. He's I AM. The one before everything. The one after everything. The one right now. That changes how you live today.
One Prayer
Jesus, you are I AM. Not a good idea. Not an option. The I AM. Help me live like that's true. Amen.
